- Among many endeavors in life, the past 28 years have been filled with being a textile artist, instructor, and a small business owner. I get great joy when my students eyes light up with a new concept and technique. My AFA was achieved Spring of 2014. This time of life holds no less growth opportunities. Your scarves are beautiful, Bobbie! I have never sewn on silk... is it difficult to work with?
Thanks, Judy. I have sewn with garment fabric for a bazillion years so my assessment of sewing on silk as semi-easy may not be accurate for one who has sewn mostly with quilt cottons. There are a few tricks I've learn. It also depends on what type of silk, it's weight and weave structure. It's worth the trial-and-error effort though. Go for it.
